Courtney Henson LCSW

Courtney Henson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults. She brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy, believing that meaningful change happens when insight is paired with practical, real-world tools.

Courtney earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based practices, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Her work is grounded in helping clients better understand their emotions while developing actionable strategies they can apply in daily life.

Courtney views being a therapist as a privilege and is honored to support clients through both their most challenging and most meaningful moments. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel empowered to build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and move toward the life they want. She believes therapy is a shared journey and values walking alongside clients as they gain greater clarity, connection, and fulfillment.

She enjoys working with teens and adults, with a particular passion for supporting young and middle-aged women navigating life transitions. Courtney also works with individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, difficult emotions, major life changes, and concerns related to identity and self-understanding.

When working with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Courtney helps clients better understand the cycle of intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and compulsive responses. She supports clients in developing healthier ways of responding to intrusive thoughts, building greater tolerance for uncertainty, and reducing the ways OCD interferes with everyday life.

Outside of the therapy room, Courtney enjoys gardening, yoga and Pilates, spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore, rewatching The Office, reading whenever she can, and cuddling with her two cats.

Courtney is currently accepting new clients for in-person sessions at our Mount Laurel location and virtually throughout New Jersey.
