Sara Palatnik LAC, MT-BC

Sara Palatnik is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and Board Certified Music Therapist who earned both of her degrees from Elizabethtown College. Sara is passionate about helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges within a supportive, compassionate, and welcoming environment.

Sara takes a person-centered approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and creative therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual’s unique needs. She believes that therapy is never a one-size-fits-all approach and that each client deserves an experience that honors their strengths, goals, and personal journey.

Sara values creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported while exploring challenges and building skills for meaningful growth. Through strong therapeutic relationships, she works collaboratively with clients to foster self-expression, emotional resilience, healing, and confidence.

As a Board Certified Music Therapist, Sara brings creativity and flexibility into her work, recognizing that healing and self-expression can take many forms. Her background allows her to think beyond traditional talk therapy and help clients discover tools and approaches that feel authentic, engaging, and meaningful to them.

Sara also works with individuals experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), helping clients better understand intrusive thoughts and the OCD cycle while developing healthier ways of responding to anxiety, uncertainty, and compulsive urges.

When working with couples and relationship dynamics, Sara uses a Gottman-informed approach to help partners better understand the patterns contributing to conflict or disconnection. She supports couples in strengthening communication, navigating conflict, increasing emotional understanding, and building deeper connection while creating space for both partners to feel heard and understood.

Sara is committed to ongoing learning and professional development and continues to expand her knowledge of evidence-based approaches to provide thoughtful, effective, and individualized care.

Sara is currently accepting new clients for in-person sessions at our Mount Laurel location and virtually throughout New Jersey.
