Bridget Smith LAC
Bridget is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) who earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from The College of New Jersey. She is passionate about creating a supportive, collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions, patterns, and experiences without judgment.
Bridget supports adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, emotional trauma, life transitions, and difficulties with emotional regulation. She incorporates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals.
Bridget has a particular passion for supporting individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), including those experiencing intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and difficulty tolerating uncertainty. Her approach to OCD treatment incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). She helps clients better understand the OCD cycle, change their relationship with intrusive thoughts and doubt, reduce reliance on compulsions, and build greater confidence navigating uncertainty.
Bridget also works with couples and relationship concerns, using a Gottman-informed approach alongside principles from Imago Relationship Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She helps partners identify patterns contributing to conflict or disconnection, improve communication, better understand one another’s needs and experiences, and strengthen emotional connection. Her goal is to create a space where both partners feel heard and understoodwhile helping couples move out of repetitive cycles and toward healthier ways of connecting.
At the heart of Bridget’s work is the belief that therapy should be a space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported while also being encouraged toward meaningful change. She balances warmth and validation with practical, evidence-based strategies clients can carry into their everyday lives.
Bridget is currently accepting new clients for in-person sessions at our Mount Laurel and Pennington locations and virtually throughout New Jersey.
