William Somers
LSW
Will is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who supports adolescents and adults throughout New Jersey. He understands that life can feel stressful, chaotic, and sometimes difficult to navigate, and works to create a space where clients can slow things down, better understand themselves, and work toward meaningful change.
Before becoming a social worker, Will earned his Master’s degree in History and worked as an adjunct professor. His experience as both an educator and a social worker influences the way he approaches therapy, meeting clients where they are, helping them make sense of their experiences, and working collaboratively toward goals that feel meaningful to them.
Will brings an authentic, direct, and conversational style into the therapy room. A self-described “geek,” he often incorporates humor, shared interests, and personality into his work to make therapy feel more approachable. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential part of meaningful change and wants clients to feel genuinely seen, understood, and comfortable being themselves.
Will is an LGBTQ+ and neurodiversity-affirming therapist and is passionate about supporting clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity, men’s issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, and trauma. He strives to find the approach that works best for each individual rather than trying to fit the individual into a specific therapeutic model.
Will provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples. He is continuing to expand his work with couples and relationship concerns and, under the supervision of Wildflowers Within’s Clinical Director, Alyssa Williams, LPC, is expanding his skills in evidence-based OCD treatment.
Will especially enjoys supporting clients who want to live more authentically, feel ready to make a change even if they aren’t quite sure what that looks like yet, or are willing to have uncomfortable conversations in order to grow.
Whether you’re completely new to therapy or have been in therapy before, Will’s goal is to create a space where you can show up as yourself, feel genuinely understood, and work toward change that feels meaningful to you.
Will currently offers virtual therapy throughout New Jersey for adolescents, adults, and couples and is accepting new clients.
Will is supervised by Khushbu Modh, LCSW
