Michael Terranova, Graduate School Level Intern


Michael Terranova is a graduate-level Clinical Counseling Intern completing dual degrees—a Master of Arts in School Counseling and an Education Specialist in Professional Counseling—at Seton Hall University. He has experience working with adolescents and adults in both individual and group counseling settings.


Michael takes a strengths-basedcollaborative, and empathy-focused approach to counseling. He prioritizes connection and the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful growth. Michael integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring his work to each client’s unique needs and goals.


He supports clients navigating anxietydepressionlife transitionsemotional regulationstress management, and interpersonal challenges. Michael is committed to creating a safesupportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel validatedempowered, and understood.


Michael is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in New Jersey, with plans to continue toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He values supervisionongoing learning, and reflective practice, ensuring he provides ethicalculturally responsive, and compassionate care.


Outside the therapy room, Michael finds peace and grounding at the Jersey Shore. He loves spending time in nature, staying active at the gym, playing pickleball, and bike riding. He enjoys quality time with his wife, their puppy, and his friends and family, and he strives to model the same balance and self-care he encourages in his clients.
